Building reliable systems, one commit at a time

Senior Software Engineer building backend systems and data pipelines with Ruby on Rails, Kafka, and RabbitMQ — exploring Julia, Rust, and TypeScript on the side, with agentic systems and tools like Claude and Cursor baked into the workflow.

About

Who I am and what I've been building.

I'm a Software Engineer based in Brasília, Brazil, currently building with Ruby on Rails at AssureSoft, working on systems for the behavioral health industry.

Before that, I spent time at Origem Motos, Brazil's first electric-motorcycle maker, where I worked on Change Data Capture pipelines — Kafka, RabbitMQ, ETL tooling, Elasticsearch, and GraphQL.

AI-assisted development is now part of how I build — using tools like Claude and Cursor day to day, and working with agentic systems, RAG pipelines, and LLM tooling to ship faster without cutting corners on quality.

Outside of backend work, I'm into martial arts (Taekwondo, Boxing, Kickboxing, Muay Thai), open-water swimming, crochet, and live coding with Sonic Pi.

Music is a big part of my life too — I'm a clarinetist, and that same discipline of practice and timing carries over into how I approach engineering work.

Beyond Code

Open water, steady pace, same mindset I bring to engineering.

In open water, there's no comfort zone — only focus, strength, and determination.

Most of the time we can't see the end of the challenge, but if we persist at a steady pace, we succeed. Software engineering challenges are the same: believe in the process, enjoy the journey, and you'll reach your goals.

This season I've taken on more than 10 swimming competitions, including at least 6 crossings of around 5 km on Lago Paranoá — among them the Travessia das Pontes, a 5 km crossing in Brasília.

"The wind, the waves, the water — everything was against the direction of the race," I still finished, carried by passion and endurance. The consistent training paid off. 💪
